Elise Has Been Watching TV Shows (Mindhunter and Shadowhunters S3 E1)

While I don’t have a book review for y’all this week, I have been watching some TV so that’s what I’m here to talk about today!

All of the sections below will be spoiler free so enjoy! 😊

I’ve been eying this show for a little while now. I had heard good things, but it wasn’t until I heard about David Fincher and Jonathan Groff’s involvement that I knew I needed to give it a shot! After watching the entire season in three days, what did I think? I really loved it! The show griped me from the first episode leaving me to never want to stop watching it. My only gripe would maybe be with (ironically) Jonathan Groff. A lot of the time when he talks he has a kinda confused teen voice. It didn’t always both me, just a little every now and then. SO! Would I recommend Mindhunter? OF COURSE! It’s a very intriguing show that makes me curious to find out more about the people the show is based on.

SHADOWHUNTERS S3 E1

For those who don’t know, I’m a long time fan of Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter novels so I actually find myself really enjoying Freeform’s Shadowhunters TV series, if only to see what liberties they take from the source material. This is of course not to say that Shadowhunters is a great show, it’s honestly a pretty poor made show, but still entertaining for someone who is invested in the source material. Without getting into many specifics, this past episode was a bit of a disappointment. It wasn’t the worst episode, not by any means, but nothing too stand out or memorable. I’m also a bit eh since a bit of this season will be based on City of Fallen Angels where Jace is extra angsty and just ugh. With that said, I’ll still be keeping up with this season and hopefully things will pick up as we get into City of Lost Souls and Heavenly Fire. Would a recommend Shadowhunters? Well I feel like most people who are interested in the show are already watching it. But if you aren’t, eh you don’t really need to. If you want something fun, not too serious, and you can look past some (a lot…) of flaws, then maybe give it a shot.

Have you seen Mindhunter or Shadowhunters? What did you think of them? Do you plan on watching Mindhunter or Shadowhunters? What shows are you watching right now?

I spend my free time watching Netflix when I should be reading and writing. Then I go online and blog about books and TV shows!
